Pridefest

Key West has a lot to be proud of. The official motto of Key West is "One Human Family." The Business Guild is one of the nation's first gay and lesbian chambers of commerce, established in 1978. We were the first city to actively promote tourism to the gay and lesbian market.

We have our own Gay and Lesbian Center complete with Museum and Archive, the only Aids Memorial in the Country and 3 years ago we came together to make and then proudly carried the longest Rainbow Flag ever seen and unfurled it so it reached from the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico! Parts of this flag have now made appearances on virtually every continent of the globe.

So you would expect Pride Week in Key West to be something special — and it is. PrideFest is produced by the Key West Gay & Lesbian Community Center and consists of Mr, Ms, and Miss Pride contests, dances, street fair and of course the central event of the parade along Duval Street.

In conjunction with PrideFest, the Business Guild holds its annual Pride Party, a cocktail party at the world renowned Island House Resort. The Island House for men opens its doors to everyone for this event and the Island House Team is known for generously hosting an amazing party for the Guild each year. The Guild Pride Party is Wednesday, June 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Island House Resort, 1129 Fleming Street, enter from White Street. Admission: TBD
